Valley Road is part of the IRIS Learning Trust and we are looking to recruit teachers to join our current KS1 team.  Incorporated in June 2018, it serves a richly diverse community and has demonstrated that it offers a good quality of education.

Valley Road’s Ofsted report in October 2022 states:

Our new member of staff would ideally have:

• Excellent, up to date, knowledge of the national curriculum
• Highly skilled in the teaching of early reading and phonics
• Experience of using assessment and observations to inform effective planning
• An understanding of how the learning environment contributes to learning
• An understanding of how to improve outcomes and raise achievement for all children
• An effective communicator and team member who can work in an environment of collective accountability.
• A commitment to working in close partnership with staff, governors, parents and the wider community
• A commitment to your own professional development
• A willingness to contribute and shape practice across school

Valley Road is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants will be subject to appropriate background checks and vetting, including an enhanced DBS check and checks against the children’s barred list.  Shortlisted candidates will also have a social media check carried out.
