Red House School seeks to appoint an outstanding, passionate and dynamic classroom practitioner as Head of History with effect from 1 September 2023. The successful applicant will join a department which enjoys an outstanding reputation.
This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role leading the History department at Red House School. The vacancy has arisen following the decision of the current incumbent, Mrs Rachel Jones, to relocate to New Zealand to pursue her teaching career overseas.
In addition to finding an outstanding teacher, we are seeking to appoint an individual who is excited by the opportunity to build on the department’s success and has a clear vision for how this will continue during the coming years. This role provides great scope for imagination, innovation and dynamic leadership from the right candidate, and will require creativity, energy and a sense of adventure, as well as strong leadership potential and empathy.
Red House is a wonderful school, for boys and girls between 2 and 16 years, in the beautiful village of Norton on Teesside. It provides an excellent, inspirational, holistic education to 340 pupils. Results at GCSE are excellent, as is the pastoral care offered to our pupils. The children also participate in an extensive co-curricular programme and Red House sees considerable success in sport.
Interested candidates may contact the incumbent Head of History, Mrs Rachel Jones, for an informal conversation. She is available on the school number.
Further details and the school application form can be found below. The completed application form, including the names and contact details of three referees, and a letter of application (no longer than two pages with minimum font size 10) should be emailed to the Head, Dr R Ashcroft (via head@redhouseschool.co.uk).
Closing date for applications: Friday 5 May 2023 at 9am. Interviews at School: Tuesday 9 May 2023.
Red House School is committed to safeguarding. Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered, prior to the date of the interview. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.
