We are seeking to appoint a Year Manager within the Pastoral and Support Team at Longfield Academy. We are looking for a creative, adaptable and reflective practitioner with experience of multi-agency working. The successful candidate will put all pupils at the forefront of every decision they make through being supportive to the individual but ‘holding the line’ to avoid impact of poor choices on the whole school. We require the candidate to understand how the academic and pastoral elements of education connect.
Your letter of application should include the following:
- The relevant qualities, skills roles and responsibilities that you have developed in this area.
- A response to how you can support the contradiction of providing individual support while ‘holding the line’ and consistency of the behaviour policy.
In return, we can offer high quality in-house coaching and mentoring; access to a wide range of professional development opportunities; regular opportunities to work with Initial Teacher Training providers; access to Northern Arch Learning Partnership networks and professional development; access to Darlington networks; a highly supportive and collaborative staff and amazing children.
For further information or to discuss the post please contact Mrs Angela Sweeten, Head Teacher on 01325 380815.
Northern Arch Learning Partnership and its partner schools are passionate about safeguarding the welfare of pupils and maximising their life chances. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service criminal records check for work with children.

Year Manager - Job OutlineNorthern Arch Learning Partnership
Welcome to Northern Arch Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust bringing together partners from early years, primary, secondary and post-16 sectors to deliver our vision for a happy, healthy and successful learning community. At the heart of Inicio is the belief that by working together we can utilise our collective skills, knowledge and ingenuity to positively impact the futures of the young people we serve.
Northern Arch Learning Partnership was formed when Swift Academies and Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College merged to form an innovative Multi Academy Trust serving young people aged 2 to 19. From the outset, the Trust’s vision has been to embrace a culture of diverse academies collaborating to find solutions and drive young people’s personal and academic progress.
The scale and scope of the Trust has enabled us to benefit from powerful partnerships with universities, employers and local communities.
