We wish to appoint a Wraparound Assistant from March to assist with our afterschool provision for children aged 3-11. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, enabling them to communicate effectively with children, SLT, parents and the wider community and the ability to work flexibly are all essential for the post. They must be committed to being responsible for welfare and safeguarding procedures. They will be responsible for caring for, and supervising, the children during the afterschool session. A willingness to contribute positively to our happy team and to become involved in the wider aspects of school life is also imperative.
Candidates must be able to:
- Provide the children with a safe and secure environment
- Implement a programme of activities to meet the needs of this age group
- Work as part of a highly motivated and professional team.
- Liaise and work closely with the Wraparound Care Manager
- Respond to the practical needs of children where there is an identified special educational need
- Provide general care and welfare by responding appropriately to the social, emotional and physical needs of pupils.
- Assist in maintaining a healthy, safe and secure environment and act in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.
You will need to:
- Hold a relevant qualification in childcare to at least Level 2
- You will have previous experience of working with children in a childcare or similar setting
