We have a vacancy for a Unit Catering Manager to join our in-house school meal catering team at Mowden Schools.
This is a key role within our happy and friendly schools, providing an appetising and nutritional menu which will appeal to our children, helping them to eat well and be at their best during the school day.
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Unit Catering Manager who is:
- a strong team leader
- able to direct catering team members
- able to plan, prepare and cook an appealing and nutritious menu
- able to manage a busy kitchen environment and maintain high standards
- reliable, trustworthy, efficient and conscientious
- motivated to provide a positive school meal service for our pupils, staff and visitors

Federation of Mowden Schools (Academy Trust)
The Federation of Mowden Schools, consisting of Mowden Infant School and Mowden Junior School, became an academy trust in June 2012. Whilst situated in separate buildings, both the Infant and Junior schools are on the same large site and we consider ourselves one school, with one headteacher, governing body and staff working closely together to achieve the best results for the children.
The school is situated in the west end of Darlington, occupying a large site in the heart of an estate of private housing. Both schools have recently undergone extensive renovation with new classrooms added to allow us to move from 2 to 3 form entry, which started with our Reception year in September 2013. We currently have over 500 children on roll from 4 years up to 11 years of age.
We take pride in our school and all our staff work hard to make it a welcoming place set in attractive surroundings. We aim to provide our pupils with a friendly environment where they feel secure and are able to develop their full potential.
