Teaching Assistant
Newcastle Preparatory School (NPS) is a thriving, vibrant and over-subscribed school for children aged 3-11. Ever evolving, we provide an inspiring curriculum, putting individual pupil wellbeing, development and achievement at the heart of the education we offer. We are looking to appoint an exceptional, dedicated and inspirational teaching assistant who can join our team and continue our commitment to making learning irresistible.
NPS is a non-selective, co-educational school which has been open on the same site since 1885. There are currently 285 pupils on roll, from Nursery to Year 6, with 48 classroom-based teaching and support staff.
The school is housed in impressive adjoining Victorian terraces in beautiful Jesmond, close to Newcastle’s lively city centre, with convenient road, rail, bus and metro links. NPS boasts a purpose-built sports centre, extensive playing field, bespoke forest school, dedicated music, art, science and computing facilities, well-equipped classrooms, together with a stunning, modern library. NPS provides the best possible facilities for our children, enveloped within its own special warmth and strong family atmosphere.
Alongside a high level of job satisfaction and outstanding working environment close to the city centre, there are many benefits to working at our school. Although we are unable to provide on-site car parking facilities, we do offer a cycle to work scheme and access to a discounted corporate Metro pass. Employees benefit from a generous private pension contribution; concessionary rates for their children’s education at NPS; free school lunch during term time; and invitation to a range of other benefits including staff social and community events.
