Full-time (8am-4pm), Term time only (plus approx. 10 days during school holiday periods, 186 days/37.2 weeks per annum)

Based at our Junior School (Nursery to Year 6) in Sandyford Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 1TA

Salary: Grade 3 salary band FTE – £27,171 – £30,720; Pro rata £22,764 – £25,738

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team at Junior School.  This is an opportunity to work for the leading school for girls in the North of England which is part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) – the largest network of independent girls’ schools in the UK.

The successful candidate will support class teachers in encouraging pupils in their learning and in the acquisition of skills.  This role involves ensuring that all pupils are appropriately supported in their learning, be it academic, practical, behaviour or social, by adopting intervention strategies as directed by the class teacher.  The successful candidate must be able to supply evidence of attaining a recognised qualification on the DFE full and relevant list for EYFS, to enable them to also work in this setting. The role also includes preparing appropriate resources for lessons and accompanying teachers and pupils on educational visits.  A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school is essential, including limited support (up to 7 days per annum) of our holiday club provision during school holidays.
