Excelsior Academy, part of Laidlaw Schools Trust, is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and support students in achieving their full potential.
Excelsior Academy was opened in 2008 and became the first All Through school in Newcastle, offering education to pupils from 3 to 19 years of age. Excelsior serves one of the most challenging communities both in the region and nationally. All pupils in our primary, secondary and sixth form provision have access to the same high-quality teaching, exceptional facilities and fabulous resources. Our purpose-built building provides excellent facilities for the 1500+ pupils who study here. Approximately 200 pupils attend our primary school, 1100 in the secondary phase and 180 in the sixth form. We are a popular choice for our local community and are now oversubscribed in most year groups.
As a Teacher of Science, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ needs
- Assess and track student progress to drive achievement
- Support the academic and personal development of pupils
- Encourage positive behaviour and a love for learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching standards
We are looking for a passionate and committed educator who:
- Holds QTS and has a strong subject knowledge
- Is dedicated to raising attainment and fostering a love of science
- Has excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Works well as part of a team to support the wider school community
