St Leonard’s Catholic School is a highly successful and oversubscribed secondary school with sixth form located in the historic cathedral city of Durham. St Leonard’s was named as part of the national School’s Re-Building Programme and with plans in the advanced stages, work is due to start in autumn 2024.
St Leonard’s is one of the highest achieving schools in the North-East and with a progress score of +0.64 in 2023, is for the second year running in the top 3 highest performing schools in the North-East’s 171 schools. As well as success at GCSE the school achieves equally impressive results at A Level and in a recent survey by The Times was named as the most successful school in the North-East for successful applications to Oxford and Cambridge.
