We are looking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher to join our geography department from September 2023. The successful candidate will be a dedicated teacher who can engage and motivate students; you will be a reflective practitioner with a desire to develop your own skills. You will join a supportive and collaborative team of teachers who are passionate about engaging and inspiring young people in their learning and are committed to raising the achievement of every student.
Macmillan Academy is situated in Middlesbrough on Teesside and was rated good by Ofsted in the most recent inspection. We have over 1500 students on roll, including 250 in Post 16. Our strong reputation for academic success is matched by our desire to provide a holistic education for every student.
The post would be suitable for an experienced teacher or ECT with the capacity to teach across the ability range, including A level. A willingness to participate in field trips is essential. The successful candidate will benefit from a wide range of CPD opportunities, including our expert teacher programme.

Macmillan Academy opened as Macmillan CTC in 1989 and converted to an academy in September 2007. The academy is a larger than average secondary academy with a large sixth form in central Middlesbrough. We have built a reputation locally for academic success and our GCSE and A-Level results are consistently strong. In our two most recent OFSTED inspections we were judged as ‘Outstanding’ and then ‘Good’.
