Are you passionate about technology and eager to inspire the next generation of young people? Due to our increasing student numbers and Sixth Form growth, we are seeking to appoint a full time, permanent Teacher of Food and/or Child Development. Our Hospitality and Catering qualification is taught within our Create department alongside Art, DT, Photography and Child Development. We are ideally seeking a Food specialist but would also be interested in people with experience of other technology disciplines and subjects. NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply and will benefit from our robust induction and mentoring program.
Longbenton High School is a successful 11-18 school with an excellent Sixth Form in a wonderful modern, purpose-built space. We are an ambitious, exciting and inclusive place to work, rated Good in our 2022 Ofsted inspection and in the top 5 in the Local Authority for 5+ GCSE outcomes in 2024. This is a school where the chances of all children are championed and where your background is no barrier to success. We are increasingly popular and heavily oversubscribed, with an intake from over 20 primary schools across the area every year.
We can offer you:
- The support of a vibrant and driven senior leadership team, committed to supporting staff with a mindful approach to teacher workload and a healthy work/life balance.
- A fantastic, modern building in a convenient location, within walking distance of several Metro stations and close to Four Lane Ends bus station.
- An evidence-informed approach to CPD, offering tailored professional development opportunities to support career progression and opportunities from the earliest stage of your career.
- A collaborative, open-door culture that celebrates and shares best practices.
- A strong emphasis on traditional KIDMAP values: Kindness, Integrity, Determination, Manners, Ambition, and Positivity.
- Outstanding support for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and a dedication to developing talent, cultivating excellent leaders, and empowering them to build their own high-performing teams.
- An inspiring and motivated student body, making teaching and learning truly rewarding.
- A smaller than average working environment (PAN of 900 in Y7-11, with 180 in each year group).
We are an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications regardless of any protected characteristics.
