Prudhoe Community High School requires a full time, permanent Teacher of English with the ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 starting in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and innovative teacher who wants to make a real difference to the lives of our students through their passion for teaching English.
.The English Department at P.C.H.S. has an excellent working atmosphere among colleagues with teamwork and mutual support being at the heart of what we do. We are enthusiastic and we are innovative. Schemes of work are planned, in house, collaboratively. Students are taught in mixed ability classes.
There are currently six teachers in the department. The English Department is housed in a modern, well-equipped suite of classrooms. Each teacher has their own classroom based around one corridor of the school in close proximity to the Library and computer facilities. There is also an English Department Office and workroom. We are looking for a proactive team player who wants to develop their career in a reflective, welcoming environment.

We are a 13-18 High School with approximately 793 students on roll (currently 200+ in Sixth Form).
Prudhoe Community High School is a very hardworking and caring school which draws students from
100 square miles around Prudhoe. We have a very good examination record at GCSE and A Level.
We are a school that is full of drama, art, music and sport and regard these areas as crucial in
developing a whole range of personal and social skills.
We are in the unique position of having moved to our brand new purpose built ‘under one roof’ school in
September 2016. We have a brand new 3G pitch and sports facilities. This is a school where students are challenged to work hard and give of their best.
