Polam Hall School wishes to appoint an enthusiastic Biology Teacher for 0.6 of a week to commence in September 2023.

The role:

 We seek a committed part time Biology teacher who is enthusiastic, passionate and has high expectations of all students. We are looking for someone with the ability to teach Science at KS3 and both Combined Science and Biology GCSE at KS4. We offer AQA specifications at GCSE.

The successful candidate will be a reflective practitioner who is able to maximise the potential of all our pupils They will use teaching and assessment effectively to ensure that all pupils know and remember key knowledge and skills. We are also looking for a colleague who can make a contribution to the wider life of the school, through extra-curricular clubs, trips and visits.

Science is in our energetic and exciting STEM Faculty, supported by a team of colleagues from Science, Maths and Computing who work together and support each other. We have had significant improvement in outcomes for students in both Science and Maths in recent years and are looking to add strength to this team. The faculty is ambitious and forward looking – with the aim of making all students into the scientists and mathematicians of the future.

Polam Hall School is a 4 – 16 all-through academy and is part of Woodard Academies Trust. We have 790 pupils on roll, with one and a half forms of entry in our Primary Phase and four forms in our Secondary Phase. Polam Hall is a school with a unique and long history which today is proud to be a fully comprehensive school serving the young people of Darlington. Our mission is to educate the whole child, developing leadership, compassion, character and academic ambition, through the combination of our Academic and Concordia Crescimus curricula.
