We require an outstanding teacher to join our Modern Foreign Language department.
George Stephenson High School is an 11-18 Trust School of 1204 students, 111 of whom are in the Sixth Form. Our school has a really positive ethos, with very strong pastoral and academic guidance and a real emphasis on learning in everything we do. This school is and will always be a fully inclusive school which puts the students at the very centre of all that it does. We want it to be a school that is always a happy, safe and enjoyable place to be. Further to that we want the school to be at the very heart of the local community and to become the school of choice of all who live here.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in our very successful and thriving Modern Language Department. The department consists of five full-time, well-qualified members of staff who work together very closely, sharing ideas, resources and strategies to build on existing good practice. We currently offer Spanish from Year 7 and French from Year 8. Uptake of a language at GCSE is high with currently eleven groups at KS4 and French and Spanish A level groups too. The Modern Language Department has high status in the school and pupils fully understand the importance of learning a language.
If you have passion and energy to inspire and motivate students and staff; a track record of success in raising standards; exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to teamwork then we would love to hear from you.
If you would like to play a key role in developing our school further, then please find an application form and job details on our website:- www.gshs.org.uk/vacancies
Closing date for applications: noon, Monday 9th January 2023. All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and Barred List Check.
