Permanent post SCP: 12-17  Salary range: £23,083-£25,297

St John’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College is “A Learning Community guided by Gospel Values.” The Governors of this successful Catholic Academy, a member of the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust, wish to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Student Engagement Officer.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dedicated professional who has a passion for working with children and their families to promote positive attitudes to attendance and engagement. Applicants should have experience of working with children within a learning environment or youth organisation. Knowledge and understanding of attendance issues and barriers to learning that some students may face would be essential. The successful candidate will join our excellent Welfare Team, who work effectively with our families and are committed to supporting students’ academic, personal, social and emotional development.

As part of this team, the successful candidate will actively nurture, support and mentor students to re-engage with education, in order to improve their attendance and become the best versions of themselves.

St John’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College is recognised by Ofsted as a Good Provider and achieved Outstanding in all areas during the Hexham and Newcastle Diocesan Inspection (October 2019).
