Full Time Term Time – working 8:00am – 4:00pm (36 hours), term time only (plus 5-8 additional days, 181 days per annum, in total)

Salary: Grade 3 salary band FTE £27,171 – £30,720 pa; Pro rata £22,152 – £25,046 pa

We are seeking to appoint a reliable, skilled and enthusiastic School Technician to support practical teaching across a range of departments, including Art, Dance, Drama, Food Technology, Music, Science, Sport and Textiles.

This is a varied and engaging role, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, thrives in a busy environment, and wants to be part of a friendly, collaborative team. Reporting to the Senior Science Technician and H&S Coordinator, and alongside a designated Science Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and storing equipment and materials, supporting staff and pupils during practical lessons across a number of disciplines in our Senior School, and ensuring that specialist teaching areas are clean, safe and well-organised and that equipment and inventories are well managed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, setting up, testing and clearing away equipment and materials for practical lessons and activities;
• Assisting teachers and pupils in lessons, including providing demonstrations and ensuring safe use of tools and materials;
• Carrying out routine checks and maintenance on a wide range of departmental equipment, such as sewing machines, ovens, musical instruments, PE and AV equipment;
• Managing stock levels and supporting ordering and inventory processes;
• Cleaning workspaces and ensuring safe disposal of waste materials;
• Assisting in the creation of displays and learning resources;
• Supporting school events, exhibitions, performances and open days.
