All of our children are complex, and understanding their unique needs and challenges is important. Understanding the impact these complexities can have is vital to this role, but seeing their potential and enabling children to progress into adulthood successfully is what we aspire too. We achieve this within a therapeutic and empathetic environment and the right manager will lead, motivate a team to enable children and young people to succeed.
Chadersley Children’s Home is part of Talbot House Trust who are a registered Children’s Charity with a Residential Children’s Home and Non-maintained Special School on their site in Newcastle. Set in 8 acres of beautifully maintained gardens and land, you would be forgiven if you thought we are based in the heart of the countryside, however, we are in Walbottle, offering an easy commute.
Our Mission
We exist to improve the lives of the children we work with. Talbot House School provides education for children who have a special educational need which centres around their social, emotional or mental health difficulties. Our children’s home provides a safe and secure environment where children who cannot live within a family unit can achieve permanence, while they develop the skills and confidence they need to prepare for adulthood.

We are looking to recruit a Registered Manager who can create a strong management team and is committed to building a culture in the home that matches the organisation’s values as set out above. This is a pivotal role with scope to shape and contribute to the future of the home and the wider organisation.
In addition to managing our Residential Children’s Home, the new Registered Manager will form part of the Senior Management Team (SMT). Working alongside our current SMT including our CEO, Head of Development (and Deputy CEO) and Head Teacher from our School, the successful applicant really does have an opportunity to change children’s lives.
If you
- are ambitious, enthusiastic, knowledgeable dynamic and forward thinking
- can demonstrate a successful track record of Ofsted inspections
- share our values and,
- have a passion to provide quality care and to change children’s lives
- hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Residential Child Care or an alternative relevant degree level qualification (please list degree units on your application) or are currently working towards this qualification or would be willing to work towards this as a priority…

We see this as a pivotal role within the organisation and we are prepared to pay a competitive salary for the right person, this will be up to £52,500 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. We are planning to enhance the provision we currently offer, this will be a very exciting time to join our residential team and SMT.

Talbot House School
Talbot House Trust is a children’s charity, based in the west of Newcastle upon Tyne, with an independent SEMH school for children from age 7 to 18, a vocational skills centre and a residential children’s home. Our children have a range of special educational needs, having struggled in mainstream educational facilities. Using our own blend of pastoral techniques and educational flexibility, Talbot House celebrates the achievements of each child and supports them to success.
