Location: St Alban’s Catholic Primary School, Rothbury Avenue, Pelaw, Gateshead, NE10 0QY.

We wish to appoint a committed, well-qualified and highly effective Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support a child with an EHCP and additional medical needs, on a 1:1 basis.
We are seeking an individual who will:
- Have experience of working 1:1 with children with special educational needs.
- Establish a supportive, caring and secure relationship with a pupil with a medical condition, ensure their medical needs are met to allow them to interact with others, engage in activities, and develop independence and a good level of wellbeing.
- Be able to work on child’s EHCP targets.
- Have experience of working closely with a class teacher/SENCO and other professionals.
- Be flexible, pro-active and hands on.
- Have vision, energy and enthusiasm for this challenge.
- Be experienced in establishing and maintaining good professional relationships.
- Support the Catholic ethos of our school.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs
- A willingness to engage in training to support the medical needs of a child.
- The ability to respond calmly and constructively when dealing with students with SEN.
- An ability to provide engaging 1:1 Support.
- Good communication skills.
- Good organisation and planning skills.

Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, is currently a family of 5 secondary schools and 21 primary schools from across Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and Northumberland, in the west of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle.
