The Trustees are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant for Excelsior Academy as soon as possible.
We are looking for candidates with experience of supporting literacy development in the classroom through working with individuals and small groups. The aim of these roles is predominantly to boost reading and literacy skills among our students and work in our EAL Hub. The postholders will be proactive in identifying students who would benefit from their support and will contribute to the monitoring and assessment of student’s literacy. Excelsior runs a number of literacy support interventions (e.g. Lexia, Fresh Start, Boosting Reading Potential) and we will train staff to be able to deliver bespoke programmes to our pupils.
The successful candidate must have a significant interest in literacy development and be suitably qualified. The roles may suit a qualified teacher looking for a different role or they may suit individuals contemplating gaining secondary school experience before embarking on their initial teacher training.
