Diamond Hall Infant Academy
At Diamond Hall Infant Academy, we aim to provide a happy, caring and rich early learning environment enabling all children and adults to achieve their very best. Our recent Ofsted Inspection in December 2019 confirmed ‘that Diamond Hall Infant Academy continues to be a good school. ‘Pupils like their caring, friendly school. They enjoy coming to school. They get along well together. Pupils behave well in lessons and on the playground. The value of ‘respecting the feelings of others’ is everywhere in the school’. |
We value tolerance, equality and diversity with each child valued for the individual contribution they make to the school. The infant school is known for its very strong commitment to an Early Years philosophy and to an inclusive provision. We have a strong commitment to the professional development of each member of staff, with the skills staff have developed then recognised through successful promotions.
Diamond Hall Infant Academy provides a stimulating infant education for children aged 2-7 years. Ofsted 2019 stated that ‘the Headteacher and her governors want the absolute best for all pupils. Young children learn to read quickly. Trained staff have the skills to teach phonics well building pupils knowledge in small steps’. |
Our current aim in going forward as an infant academy, as well as maintaining our key values as described above, requires us to be strongly focused on ensuring every child has the highest standard of early education teaching to make the best possible progress. To do this we need to ensure that by working with parents each child maintains excellent attendance at both school and in nursery.
Diamond Hall Infant Academy received a ‘Reading Recovery School of the Year Award 2013’ from the Institute of Education, University of London. This award is for the growth of professional learning about early literacy (reading and writing development) throughout the whole school. The staff and governors are extremely proud of this award which reflects the commitment to make every child a reader and to promote the love of books for all.
In addition to our recent award within our local authority, we are recognised as a leading infant school for the early education of children that speak English as an additional language. The school is also renowned for its strong commitment to an Early Years philosophy and to an inclusive provision alongside a strong emphasis on the professional development of each staff member.
