St Thomas More Catholic School is a co-educational Catholic Academy which provides for the education needs of 11-18 year old pupils from the west of Gateshead L.A. We are part of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and have a strong commitment to Catholic Education.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Chemistry to join St Thomas More Catholic School. The successful candidate will be a strong classroom practitioner who has the ability to motivate young people of all abilities and will be able to work well in a team.
We are seeking an individual to:
- To provide professional leadership and management for the Chemistry department.
- To provide a high quality educational experience for all students to raise the levels of attainment and achievement.
The successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Inspire, challenge, motivate and empower teams and individuals to achieve
- Demonstrate personal enthusiasm and commitment to leadership aimed at making a positive difference to children and young people
- Manage and resolve conflict
- Prioritise, plan and organise self and others in addressing strategic direction of the department
