Our trust is a collaborative partnership of six primary and secondary schools. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East. The vision for our trust is to be an outstanding MAT, providing the best education, and outcomes for all of our students.
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced school business professional to join our central service team. You will be joining the trust at an exciting time as it is set for further growth and as we continue to develop our central business support services.
You will work closely with our Head of Business Services and our Business Support Managers and Head Teachers. The business partner will provide high level strategic financial and business support, advice and challenge to each of our primary schools and have an oversight of the operational management including financial performance against the approved budget and forecasting. The business partner will play a key role in identifying opportunities for the schools, ensuring the school is compliant in all business areas including procurement, contract management, and risk.
You do not necessarily have to have a financial qualification, although this or a school business management qualification would be an advantage. You must however be experienced and competent in school financial duties and be able to confidently advise schools on such matters.
Whilst it is possible to provide schools with some support remotely, to carry out an effective partnering service you will be required to travel within the region. In return we provide access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, a generous annual leave entitlement, employee assistance wellbeing program and opportunities for professional development.
Would you like to find out more about this unique opportunity? We can arrange an informal discussion with Lisa Bilton, Head of Business Services, on 0191 2284090.
If you would like to join us and feel you could thrive here, then please read the accompanying job description and person specification and complete an online application form via North East Jobs no later than 5pm on 4th October 2023.

NEAT Academy Trust, usually known as NEAT, was formed in 2017 from an existing collaboration of schools within North East England.
Academy trusts are charitable companies set up to provide education for the public benefit. We are a “mixed” multi-academy trust as we were established to include both non-faith and Church of England schools.
