We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of English to this brand new University Technical College (UTC) to start as soon as possible.
The UTC opens in central Newcastle in the newly redeveloped Stephenson Quarter. We are very well connected by public transport links with nearby Metro, train and bus stations.
The building replicates a business environment with state-of–the-art facilities. This is not only a new school but a new approach to educating 14-19 year olds, which is possibly the most exciting change in the education landscape in decades.
All students at North East Futures UTC specialise in either Heathcare Science or Computer Science; at 14 they will also study a broad and balanced curriculum and at Post 16 the curriculum becomes more specialist with A levels in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry being studied alongside specialist BTEC Level 3 courses in Biomedical Sciences and Computing. At capacity we will be educating 600 students who will all have a passion for Healthcare Science or Computer Science. It will be a truly inspirational environment.
This role will provide you with:
- Focussed teaching – only teaching KS4 and KS5 classes
- Small class sizes
- Passionate students who have chosen to move to the UTC
- Substantial opportunities for career development as the UTC grows
- An opportunity to be at the forefront of STEM education
- Opportunities to create and deliver engaging real-life curriculum projects with our range of industry partners
- Discounted gym membership at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and we are negotiating discounted car parking places in the Stephenson Quarter (although we actively encourage staff to use public transport wherever possible)
If you believe that this is an environment where you can thrive, develop and substantially contribute to an exciting future for North East Futures UTC then you are encouraged to explore further by contacting the Principal, Dan Sydes, via firstname.lastname@example.org for a more detailed discussion, if required.
Completed application forms should be emailed no later than midday on 12:00 16th September to email@example.com
We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
