Kepier Academy (Houghton-le-Spring) has an extensive range of sports facilities available to the public to use outside of school hours. These include a full size 3G Pitch, Sports Hall, Dance Drama Studio, and a range of sports pitches.
We are looking to employ additional CLA’s to work within the facility. Your duties will include the setting up/taking down of sports equipment, liaising with users of the facilities, and ensuring safety of the site, general cleaning duties.
Experience of working within a customer service environment, preferably in a sport or leisure facility. A good level of general fitness is also required, and the flexibility to cover shifts at short notice is essential. As some of the work will involve being outdoors on the site you must be prepared to work in inclement weather. The post holder will be required to undergo First Aid training, and carry out relevant duties upon qualification.
The facility is open from 5.00pm – 9.30pm Monday to Friday, and 8:00am – 4:00pm on weekends (hours may vary depending upon the needs of the business), all year round (excluding the 2 week Christmas/New Year School Holiday period). The CLA shifts will fall within these hours. Applicants should be aware that weekend working will be a regular part of any hours.
The school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. As part of our due diligence and to comply with our obligations in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, an online search of publicly available information will be undertaken for all shortlisted candidates. All School posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants will be subject to appropriate background checks and vetting including an enhanced DBS check and checks against the children’s barred list.
Application form, job description and person specification are available on-line at www.kepier.com. Application forms (please do not attach additional letters or statements) should be returned to recruitment@kepier.com no later than 12 pm noon on Wednesday 25th Septemeber 2024.
