St Peter’s Catholic Primary School is a ‘Good’ rated school based in Low Fell with 213 children on roll. We are proud to be part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, a family of secondary, middle, primary and first schools in Durham, Gateshead, Northumberland and Sunderland. Bishop Wilkinson is the largest catholic education trust in the North East of England, which will have a total of 48 schools. This is an exciting time to join our supportive, and growing team.
We are looking for a skilled, reliable and self-motivated Caretaker who will play a vital role in ensuring that the school site is secure and that the buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard and the site is fully compliant with regulations and checks.
The successful candidate will:
- Ensure buildings and the site are secure.
- Act as the designated key holder for the school premises.
- Operate and regularly check systems such as heating, lighting and security.
- Arrange regular maintenance and safety checks.
- Perform duties in line with health and safety and COSHH regulations.
- Maintain the school grounds and liaise with the grounds maintenance contractor.
- Be part of a welcoming and supportive team of staff, parents, carers and governors.
