Location: St Bede’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College, Consett Road, Lanchester, Durham, DH7 0RD

Reporting to: Premises Manager / Operations Manager
Hours: 37 hours per week – Permanent – Full Time
- One week – 6.30am – 2.30pm (2.00pm Friday)
- One week – 11.00am – 7.00pm (6.30pm Friday)
St Bede’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College are proud to be part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, a family of secondary, middle, primary and first schools in Durham, Gateshead, Northumberland and Sunderland.
We would like to appoint a caretaker to our friendly and welcoming school, to commence work as soon as possible. We are seeking applicants who are enthusiastic, reliable and trustworthy; someone who can make a positive contribution to the life of St. Bede’s Catholic School following the Catholic ethos.
The job is very varied and includes maintenance of the school building, ensuring the premises are kept safe and secure, ensuring health and safety is adhered to, co-ordinating and overseeing the work of our team of cleaners and liaising with external contractors.
The successful candidate should have good interpersonal skills and will become part of the school team delivering high quality education in a safe and welcoming environment for our students.
The successful candidate will have:
- An understanding of health & safety regulations and procedures.
- The ability to deal with emergencies and problems in a positive and systematic manner.
- Have good communication skills and the drive to succeed and drive change.
- The ability to undertake maintenance tasks and adhere to maintenance schedules.
- Practicable DIY skills.
