The Attendance and Safeguarding Officer at High Tunstall College of Science plays a vital role in promoting a culture of consistent attendance and ensuring the highest safeguarding standards to support the wellbeing and personal development of all students.
This role requires a proactive and compassionate approach to removing barriers to attendance, working closely with Students, Families, Staff, and External Agencies to provide timely interventions that enhance engagement and achievement.
The Officer will maintain accurate attendance records, implement the College’s Attendance Policy, and collaborate with local statutory and voluntary partners to address complex challenges beyond the school gates. In safeguarding, the Officer will contribute to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment by supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead, monitoring casework, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practises. This position is pivotal in fostering a supportive learning environment where every student feels safe, valued, and able to thrive.
