We have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Health & Social Care and Social Sciences to join Cardinal Hume Catholic School from September 2026.

Graded ‘Outstanding’ in 2024 by Ofsted and in 2019 by the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle, Cardinal Hume Catholic School is an 11 – 18, high-performing, academy which serves the East of Gateshead. We are proud to be part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, the largest Catholic Education Trust in the North-East of England which has a total of 48 schools. We wish to appoint a dynamic, well qualified, and highly effective Teacher of Health & Social Care and Social Sciences. This is a thriving and popular area of the curriculum, currently offering the following courses at Key Stages 4 and 5:
- Health and Social Care Level 2 and AAQ Level 3 (Key Stages 4 and 5)
- GCE A Level Sociology (Key Stage 5)
- GCE A Level Psychology (Key Stage 5)
- Level 3 Criminology (Key Stage 5)
- AAQ Early Level 3 Childhood Development (Key Stage 5)
In addition, the school also currently offers GCE A Levels in Politics and Law.
