Caretaker
We are looking to appoint a Caretaker at our thriving, vibrant and highly popular independent preparatory school for children aged 3-11. We are situated in the heart of Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, close to public transport links, and seek to complement our highly committed, friendly and passionate team.
The role of the Caretaker is to assist the Head Teacher and Bursar in maintaining the school to ensure it is a pleasant and safe environment at all times. Tasks include the general upkeep, maintenance and security of buildings and grounds. A Caretaker is expected to handle minor repairs, cleaning, groundskeeping, opening/locking up, and managing systems like heating and alarms, ensuring the premises are secure and functional for users. The team consists of the Bursar, the full-time Caretaker and a part-time Caretaker.

This role will involve contact with, and responsibility for, children and will amount to ‘regulated activity’.

Newcastle Preparatory School (NPS) is a thriving, vibrant and over-subscribed school. Forward thinking, we put personal care and creativity at the heart of education.
NPS is a non-selective, co-educational school. There are currently 245 pupils on roll, from Nursery to Year 6, with 48 teaching staff and assistants and 18 support staff.
