We are seeking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to be responsible for the care and supervision of children before and after meals, ensuring coverage throughout the entire lunch interval between the end of the morning session and the start of the afternoon session, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will:
- Supervise the entry and exit of pupils to and from the dining hall.
- Oversee and ensure that pupils properly wash their hands.
- Assist pupils throughout the meal service.
- Ensure that pupils maintain high standards of behaviour, ensuring conduct aligns with the school’s Behaviour Policy. Report any instances of persistent misbehaviour, particularly bullying, as appropriate.
- Promptly address and clear up any spillages during mealtimes and assist with cleaning tables and chairs as required and at the conclusion of each meal.
- Supervise children within classrooms during inclement weather conditions.
- Initiate safe, enjoyable and creative games and activities when suitable, while maintaining overall supervision.
- Administer basic first aid for minor incidents or accidents and maintain accurate and relevant records of incidents and accidents.
- Attend training courses relevant to the role ensuring continuous professional development.
- Work closely with other members of the lunchtime team.
- Demonstrate positive behaviour, speech, dress, and attitude as a role model for pupils.
- Provide pastoral care and support to sick or injured children, ensuring appropriate action is taken and that parents and school staff are fully informed of all incidents and accidents.
