For 1st September 2025, we are seeking to appoint an energetic and driven individual who is passionate about teaching and learning in order to support the school’s aim of achieving high results, consistently excellent classroom practice and developing literacy across the curriculum.
The successful candidate will work in a supportive environment and provide effective and engaging learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students. Applicants will be highly motivated and have a passion to ensure that our learners achieve the very best that they can at all times. The core purpose of the role will be to uphold the fundamental standards of pride, respect and achievement with all learners but also ensure that all students receive the highest standard of bespoke support.
As well as being an excellent classroom practitioner the successful candidate will be responsible for whole school literacy and will work with colleagues across the curriculum to ensure literacy is embedded across all subjects and that students routinely have high quality opportunities to develop their literacy skills further.

In this role you will:
- Be part of the decision making and the direction of the school in relation to whole school literacy
- Use skills in monitoring and evaluating the quality of work around reading and writing in order to identify best practice in the school
- Work with colleagues to reflect on, discuss and learn from the best practice in order to raise standards
- Plan and lead staff training
You will be responsible for:
- Developing initiatives in school to promote reading for pleasure
- Develop and monitor initiatives to improve students with weak reading skills, particularly fluency and comprehension
- Develop and monitor initiatives to promote extended writing and SPaG skills
- Liaising with curriculum teams across the school to evaluate how well wider reading is embedded into schemes of learning
- Work closely with the senior team to facilitate literacy focused professional development
