HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT
Archibald Pre-School – 2 Year Old Provision
Required for September 2025
Hours: 7 hours per week
Term time plus 1 week

As a HLTA, you will lead a team of teaching assistants in Archibald 2 Year Old Provision as part of the Early Years Foundation Stage Team. You will play an important part in helping children to get the most out of their learning. The main feature of your role will be to support individuals and groups of children with day to day learning and play both in, and outside the classroom. In addition, you will lead the team of teaching assistants in organising the environment. Daily tasks may include:
- setting up equipment and getting things ready for sessions.
- helping children who need extra support to complete tasks.
- listening to children, reading to them or telling stories .
- comforting and caring for children if they have an accident or are upset.
- maintaining records.
- undertaking observations of children and recording the outcomes.
- completing admission forms with new families
We are looking for people who have a genuine interest in working with children; are interested in their development and learning and have good organisational and communication skills.
