Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and highly skilled educator as a Trust Cluster SENDCo who will bring enthusiasm, drive and expertise to develop the SEND provision through the next stage of our exciting development.
We are seeking an individual to:
· Work with the Trust Cluster Executive Headteacher and the Strategic Lead for Inclusion to support the development of SEND policy and provision in our schools
· Raise standards in learning and attainment through inspiring leadership, quality assuring, supporting the coordination and developing the provision for children with SEND and for those who are vulnerable; monitoring standards and assessing progress
· Have a strategic overview of provision for pupils with SEN or a disability across cluster schools, monitoring and reviewing the quality of provision
· Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
· Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of national and local initiatives which may affect the school’s policy and practice
· Identify a pupil’s SEND and co-ordinate provision that meets the pupil’s needs, and monitor its effectiveness
· Support the schools to maintain an accurate and up to date SEND register, provision maps and Pupil Profiles.
· Provide guidance to colleagues on teaching pupils with SEND, and advise on the graduated approach
· Implement and lead intervention groups for pupils with SEN, and evaluate their effectiveness
· Analyse assessment data for pupils with SEN or a disability and provide succinct and clear analysis to data meetings
· Ensure records are maintained and kept up to date
· Review the education, health and care plan with parents or carers and the pupil
· Communicate regularly with parents or carers
· Be aware of the provision in the respective local offer
The successful candidate will have:
• Hold the national award for SEND
• Current/recent experience of working in primary education
• Had experience of being a SENDCo
• Experience in interpreting data and identifying areas for improvement
• Been a member of a SLT in a school
• Highly effective interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with all stakeholders.
