St Thomas More Catholic School is a co-educational Catholic Academy which provides for the education needs of 11-18 year old pupils from the west of Gateshead L.A. We are part of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and have a strong commitment to Catholic Education.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join St Thomas More Catholic School, Blaydon.
We are seeking an individual to:
- Support teachers and learners in lessons.
- Prepare classroom materials e.g. organising work sheets, preparing support materials, setting up equipment following instructions from the subject teacher.
- Act as a key worker for designated pupils on the SEN Register and take part in associated meetings and administration.
- Assist with the administration of SEN information e.g. circulating profiles and giving admin support to the department.
The successful candidate will have:
- 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent including Maths and English.
- Post 16 Higher Education, Teaching Assistant or Degree level qualification.
- Experience of working with children in an educational setting.
- Good ICT skills.
- Good communication skills.
